ASCO honors Duke’s Cohen and Lyman
posted March 31st, 2010Two Duke physicians have been honored by the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Harvey Jay Cohen, M.D., director of the Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development and Walter Kempner Professor of Medicine, received the 2010 B. J. Kennedy Award and Lecture for Scientific Excellence in Geriatric Oncology. The award recognizes distinguished leadership and achievement in the field of geriatric oncology.
Gary H Lyman, M.D., MPH, FRCP(Edin), won the ASCO Statesman Award. He is professor of medicine and director of comparative effectiveness and outcomes research, Duke University School of Medicine and the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center; senior fellow, Duke Center for Clinical Health Policy Research; and editor-In-chief, Cancer Investigation. The award recognizes ASCO members for their extraordinary volunteer service, dedication, and commitment to ASCO.
