Duke Chapel concerts brighten the holiday

chorusSeveral concerts will be held at Duke Chapel during the holiday season.

Here is the schedule:

Dec. 13 and 14, 8 to 10 p.m. The Choral Society of Durham will perform Christopher Rouse’s Karolju, plus American carols. Cost: $20 for adults and seniors and free for students. Tickets can be purchased through the Duke University Box Office at 684-4444 or at the door with cash or check.

Dec. 15, 7:30 p.m. The North Carolina Boys Choir. Cost: $12 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door one hour before the performance, by calling 489-0291 or e-mailing samann@earthlink.net.

Dec. 16, 12:30 p.m. Greensboro’s Peeler Open School for the Performing Arts will perform holiday orchestral music by its elementary school students. Cost: free.

Dec. 18, noon. Duke Chapel will hold its annual open house for Duke faculty, staff and the public.

Dec. 22,  7 p.m. Duke Chapel will host an open rehearsal for all singers to sing in the Christmas Eve Community Choir. Cost: free.

Services on Christmas Eve will also include carols at 5:30 and 11 p.m.
