Duke Children’s 16th annual radiothon exceeds $1M
posted February 12th, 2010At the conclusion of the 16th Annual Radiothon for Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center on February 11, 2010, Dr. Joseph St. Geme, Chair of the Duke Department of Pediatrics and Chief Medical Officer of Duke Children’s Hospital, and Bill Jordan and Lynda Loveland of WRAL FM’s MIX 101.5, announced a three-day fundraising total of $1,019,376. MIX 101.5 listeners, our sponsors, patient families, and hundreds of volunteers came together to make magic happen again for Duke Children’s.

The three-day Radiothon for Duke Children’s broadcasts live from the lobby of the McGovern-Davison Children’s Health Center and raises more money per capita than any other Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon in the U.S. or Canada. “We are thrilled with the generosity our community shows year after year,” said Kristen Johnson, Director of Annual Programs, Stewardship and Communications at Duke Children’s.A check in the amount of total funds raised was presented live in the final hour of the Radiothon broadcast. Over the past 15 years, MIX 101.5 has raised over $10.7 million dollars for the kids at Duke Children's Hospital.
