Duke Medicine holding a cancer summit on April 28

Duke Medicine is holding a Cancer Summit: "Advancing Cancer Care in Our Community" on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center (RTP), 4700 Emperor Blvd. Duke Medicine employees are invited to attend. There is no charge, but registration is required. The deadline to register is April 21, 2010. Register online or by calling 888-ASK-DUKE.

The summit will bring together cancer researchers and clinicians, health care professionals, policy makers, philanthropic organizations, community stakeholders, cancer survivors, volunteers, and anyone who wants to work towards fighting cancer in their community. Panel topics include health care disparities, survivorship, cancer and the environment, personalized medicine, and the fruture of cancer care.

The Duke Medicine Cancer Summit will endeavor to engage and empower participants through moderated discussions of the very latest in cancer research, treatment, care models, and the economic and social impact of increasing incidences of cancer.
