Go blue March 6 to target colon cancer
posted March 4th, 2009The national Dress in Blue Day will be held in communities and offices nationwide on Friday, March 6, as part of Colon Cancer Awareness Month.
Duke wants to encourage everyone to dress in blue to help raise awareness about colorectal cancer and the importance of getting screened.
Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer related deaths in the U.S., but when caught and diagnosed early, it can be treated quickly and effectively. Yearly screenings are especially important for individuals over age 50.
