Heart Walk just one week away

posted October 10th, 2008

The Start! Triangle Heart Walk is just one week away. In the final days of preparation, Victor J. Dzau, M.D., chancellor and CEO for the health system, is encouraging all Duke employees to sign up to participate.

If you have not signed up yet, you can join Dr. Dzau’s team—and walk with the chancellor on Oct. 19.

To register, start here.

See tips below for ways to raise money for the Heart Walk, and learn more details about the event.

How to Raise $150 in 5 Easy Steps

  1. Show your commitment by making a donation: $25
  2. Ask spouse/friend to match your donation: $25
  3. Ask someone who has been affected by heart disease or stroke for a donation: $25
  4. Ask your five best friends for $10 each: $50
  5. Ask someone who has asked you for support: $25

The Heart Walk is Oct. 19 at the Imperial Center Park in RTP. It is the American Heart Association’s largest community event aiming to raise funding for lifesaving research and education programs, celebrate survivors of heart disease and stroke, and educate our employees and their families about the prevention and treatment of these diseases.
