Matchar gets Duke-NUS post

David Matchar, M.D., a professor in the department of internal medicine, has been named director of health services research (HSR) at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore.
HSR is one of five signature programs the school has launched in areas of critical importance to Singapore’s effort to expand its biomedical sciences initiatives.
Part of Matchar’s role will be to oversee the Lien Center for Palliative Care—a collaboration involving Duke-NUS, Lien Foundation, National Cancer Center Singapore and SingHealth Group to promote better practices in the care of the dying.
Also joining Duke-NUS is Dr. Shirish Shenolikar as associate dean of research. He is a former member and former vice chairman of Duke’s Department of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology who comes to Duke-NUS from Pfizer Global Research & Development.
