Medical student group to hold silent auction
posted November 19th, 2008The Duke University School of Medicine Student National Medical Association (SNMA) will host its annual fundraising silent auction at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in the Mary Lou Center for Black Culture.
Raffle prizes will be drawn throughout the night, so get there early. The bidding ends at 8:30 p.m.
Admission is free and refreshments will be provided. Entertainment will include Pitch Forks, Sabrosura, and Exhibition show.
Cash, checks and Flex will be accepted.

All bidding will begin at 30-50% of the value of the items. Items include fine jewelry from Atlelier N Jewelry and Hamilton Hill Jewelry, night-stays and brunches/breakfast at the Washington Duke Inn and Brookwood Inn for when your family and friends visit, gift certificates to Duke University Bookstore, tons of items from Nearly New Shoppe, Cozy Inc on 9th St, Peak Fitness memberships, Pitch Forks acapella group, vouchers to restaurants and bars in the area, Tennis lessons, Dance lessons, Golf lessons, climbing lessons, baby-sitting, baking services, and more.
Funds will be used to support the annual activities of the SNMA—medical trips to Congo, Gambia and Dominican Republic, merit scholarships to deserving high school students starting college, mentorship of elementary school students interested in medicine, advising of pre-medical students, annual Martin Luther King Banquet, etc.
