John "Bear" Holland statue
A statue commemorating the life and legacy of Life Flight pilot John "Bear" Holland sits at its new location near the helipad on the roof of Duke University Hospital.
Holland died in October 2000 when his Life Flight helicopter crashed in Burlington. He was the only person on board. Until late June, the statue honoring Holland sat near the former helipad location near the Emergency Department entrance.
