posted January 8th, 2010

Sara E. Miller, Ph.D., has been elected as a fellow of the Microscopy Society of America, a designation that recognizes senior distinguished MSA members who have made significant contributions to the advancement of science and practice of microscopy imaging or analysis and diffraction techniques.

Miller, a professor in the Department of Pathology and director of the Electron Microscopy Laboratory, was MSA president in 2004, served on the executive board from 2003-5 and served on its council as a director from 1999-2002.

Election to MSA fellowship is highly selective. The number of MSA fellows elected in any one year is limited to 0.5 percent of total MSA membership. Each must have been a MSA member for at least 10 years.
