Talk targets hypnosis myths

A seminar on hypnosis and self-hypnosis will be held from from 5:30-7 p.m. today at the Duke Integrative Medicine Building on the Center for Living campus in Workshop Room AB.  To register call 416-3853.

“A New State of Consciousness: Benefits of Hypnosis and Self-Hypnosis”  will be presented by Jeffrey M. Greeson, Ph.D, M.S., clinical health psychologist, Duke Integrative Medicine and assistant professor in the School of Medicine.

It will debunk common myths about hypnotherapy; offer information about hypnosis as an effective way to reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and pain management; and offer experience on how to focus, relax, and feel at ease using self-hypnosis.
