Talk targets smoking and tobacco control

The next University Seminar on Global Health will be at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, and will focus on smoking and tobacco control research.
The talk will be given by Prabhat Jha, director of the Centre for Global Health Research at the University of Toronto. He is lead author of “Curbing the Epidemic: Governments and the Economics of Tobacco Control.”
Jha is leading a child and adult mortality study involving 15 million people in India, and had a paper published in the New England Journal of Medicine . His recent work includes the “Million Death Study,” which examines smoking mortality among 15 million people in India.
