Work Culture Survey for DUHS
posted April 17th, 20122012 Work Culture Survey set for May 14-28
From May 14 through 28, the spotlight will shine on Duke University Health System and Private Diagnostic Clinic employees as they will be asked to participate in the 2012 Work Culture Survey to deliver key insights about how they view the organization.
Since 1999, the survey has helped shape a number of significant developments that have enhanced the culture and the workplace – from online enrollment for benefits, to creation of a nursing tuition assistance program, to the introduction of Strength, Hope and Caring and other recognition programs across DUHS entities.
“It’s important for employees to understand that their feedback plays a real and meaningful role in identifying areas for continued improvement,” said Steve Smith, chief human resources officer for DUHS.
Last year, a record 88 percent of employees participated in the survey, providing a comprehensive picture of how they assess the work environment.
“Leadership is committed to using feedback from the Work Culture Survey to analyze where we can be more effective and to stay focused on our values,” Smith noted.
Employees will receive an e-mail invitation and can also ask their managers about other alternatives to participate.

Again, the results were used to help guide the development of new initiatives and programs to improve the work environment at DUHS. Since 2005, the Work Culture Survey has been conducted on an annual basis to assess the progress made since the previous survey and identify needs for strengthening the DUHS work culture.
