2010 Carol Hogue Distinguished Lectureship

May 5th, 2010

Mary Naylor, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, will deliver the 2010 Carol Hogue Distinguished Lectureship at the Duke University School of Nursing on May 5, 2010, as part of the "Care Transitions: Research, Realities and Reform" conference highlighting efforts from across the Duke and UNC campuses and the community to improve care transitions for seniors.

Naylor has led an interdisciplinary program of research designed to improve outcomes and reduce costs of care for vulnerable community-based elders. To date, Naylor and her research team have completed three National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR)-funded randomized clinical trials focusing on discharge planning and home follow-up of high-risk elders by advanced practice nurses. In addition, she is co-faculty director of the Living Independently For Elders (LIFE) which is part of a national model health care delivery program, the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).
