8th Annual New Balance Girls on the Run 5K & Fun Run

The 8th Annual New Balance Girls on the Run 5K & Fun Run Presented by Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center welcomes the entire family.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 17th at 9 a.m. on the American Tobacco Campus in Durham. Race activities are open to male and female participants of all ages. Yes - the event is open to men and boys too!

The event this year will attract over 3,000 runners, volunteers, and supporters. Post-race celebration will continue with a festival for people of all ages and will include a Kids Zone, interactive playgrounds, food, music, entertainment/performances, and many more fun and exciting activities for families and kids of all ages. Girls on the Run uses the power of running and being active to change the way girls see themselves and their futures. It is an innovative health education and wellness program that combines training for a 3.1 mile non-competitive run/walk event with life-changing, leadership skill building lessons that encourage healthy habits and an active life-style in girls ages 8-12 years old. Girls on the Run currently serves over 600 girls at 27 program locations throughout the Triangle.
