Discussion of active surveillance in early stage prostate cancer

April 14th, 2010

Wednesday, April 14, 2010, noon-1 p.m., SON, Clipp Auditorium, Room 1017. Donald "Chip" Bailey, Ph.D., will discuss findings from two pilot studies of prostate cancer.

In the first study, conducted from 2004-2006, Bailey will present the physiological trajectories of men undergoing active surveillance for early stage prostate cancer. The second, recently completed study, used a web-based questionnaire to examine the way in which a variety of labels made monitoring (rather than invasive treatments) more appealing to 600 men at risk for prostate cancer.
