DUHS holds 10th-annual Durham Health Summit

April 14th, 2011

Duke University Health System will hold its 10th-annual Durham Health Summit from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on April 14, 2011, at the Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club in Durham.

This year’s gathering -- “Health: Whose Responsibility Is It?” – will feature discussions of the impact of health care reform and financing; integration of health, wellness and spirituality; workplace wellness models; and taking responsibility for personal health.

Highlights also will include a celebration of the multi-organizational initiatives and programs developed since the summits began, and a discussion of the benefits of collaboration and partnerships across boundaries to address social determinants of health.

The annual summits have been a vehicle for innovative community health partnerships since the first was held in 2002. Each year, hundreds of community members gather with DUHS and other health care experts to discuss current health initiatives and strategies to improve community health.

There is no fee to attend the summit, which includes lunch, but registration is required. Space is limited to 350 participants. Get additional information, register.
