Spring has sprung and Duke Medicine Orchestra is tuning up for the spring semester concert of its inaugural year. Join colleagues and friends for two special performances conducted by Verena Mösenbichler-Bryant. This is your chance to hear over 40 members of the Duke medical community collaborate to share their musical gifts. The orchestra is holding a dress rehearsal within the hospital for patients, visitors and staff in addition to the concert at Baldwin Auditorium. For more information on the concert, click here.
Listen to a preview of the performance at the Dress Rehearsal, attend the concert at Baldwin Auditorium, or come out to support the Orchestra at both! Let us know if you are planning to attend or invite your friends to come by visiting the orchestra’s Event Page on Facebook.
The orchestra will be accepting new members for the 2011-12 season. If you are affiliated with Duke Medicine and are interested in being part of the orchestra, contact HAND Performing Arts Coordinator at erin.dangler@duke.edu. Auditions for placement will be held on August 27 and 28, 2011. Rehearsals are each Sunday from 6:30 – 9:00 pm in Bone Hall. After the summer break, rehearsals will begin again on September 11, 2011.
The orchestra is presented by Health Arts Network at Duke in collaboration with the Multicultural Resource Center of Duke Medical School. Orchestra members are affiliated with the Duke Medicine community.
