HAND sponsors concert, documentrary film
October 9th, 2009Oct. 9, concert and documentary film featuring Marcy Brenner, breast cancer survivor.
Brenner received a bone marrow transplant at Duke for metastatic breast cancer and has been in remission since 2000. Her inspiring story is now featured in the highly acclaimed documentary, "Dead Girl Walking." This film is an "intimate and spirited story of a young woman's survival and the back-handed gifts her adventure with illness bestowed on her life."
10:30 - 11:30 AM Concert: in the Duke North courtyard with professional musicians Marcy and her husband ( recently featured in the film "Nights in Rodanthe.")
12:00 - 1:00 PM Documentary : "Dead Girl Walking." Followed by discussion in Rauch Conference Room, 15103 Morris Building. Brenner will speak about her experience and answer questions after the viewing.
