The Joseph and Kathleen Bryan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center 25th Anniversary Conference: Alzheimer’s Disease Breakthroughs will emphasize new science and discoveries in Alzheimer's disease and frontal lobe dementias and their implications for diagnosis, prevention and practice. A research participant and family in dialogue with a featured speaker will bring home the message for a diverse, multidisciplinary audience, including persons with dementia and their family members. Afternoon workshops offer interactive opportunities to learn and practice preparation for transitions in care or moves from home to hospital to rehabilitation or residential settings, non-pharmacological approaches to reducing risk of cognitive impairment, best practice nursing strategies for assisted living and nursing home care, music therapy, modifying support for men, and positive strategies to enhance relationships for families caring at home.
This conference is designed specifically for families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, direct care staff, health care professionals and administrators, aging service professionals, and clinician-scientists.
