Science Education Showcase
September 20th, 2010The Duke Center for Science Education Showcase is sponsoring a Science Education Showcase on September 20 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the LSRC Hall of Science. Students, staff and faculty will showcase their science education projects with exciting hands-on activities and demonstrations. Many of these activities will be featured at Duke's exhibit at the USA Science & Engineering Festival in Washington, DC on October 23-24, 2010.
In conjunction with the Showcase, the Duke Center for Science Education is very excited to present a special lecture by Ira Flatow, host of NPR's Talk of the Nation: Science Friday entitled " Science and The Media: Talking Science in a Science Challenged World". He will speak at 1:30 p.m. in the Love Auditorium, located in the Levine Science & Research Center (LSRC). Tickets are Required! Free tickets are available at the Duke University Box office or online at www.tickets.duke.edu (service fee for online).
Ira Flatow's seminar is in partnership with the Departments of Pharmacology & Cancer Biology, Physics, and Biology, the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, Duke Institute for Brains Sciences, Duke Medicine, Institute for Genome Sciences & Policy, Nicholas School of the Environment, and RBC Bank USA.
