Amy Ellis: She’s a lifesaver to patients and their families, friends

I am just so thankful that my friend had a wonderful, caring, empathetic, strong, intelligent and diligent nurse to care for her that first night.

Amy Ellis, RN, BSN, Duke Birthing Center, is recognized by a Duke nurse.

"Amy was my friend's nurse during the birth of her first baby. I want to express how much of a lifesaver Amy was to my friend and her family. Amy didn't hesitate to fix what she could fix, get help when she needed it and reassure everyone about everything that was going on. I am just so thankful that my friend had a wonderful, caring, empathetic, strong, intelligent and diligent nurse to care for her that first night. Thank you Amy for such a job well done."
