Brittney Lyons and Sally Guilmart: A team effort

Brittney Lyons and Sally Guilmart, RNs at Clinic 1J, received a Strength Hope and Caring Team Award. This nomination was submitted as a clinical nomination, but the SH&C Selection Committee made the decision to make this a team nomination and include the nominator.
Brittney Lyons received a call from a distraught patient who was early in her pregnancy and experiencing some difficulties. The patient was by herself and clearly wanted to come to clinic 1J to be seen. Brittney put the patient through to Sally Guilmart, nurse manager, who was speaking with the patient as she was driving over here to be seen. Sally stayed on the phone with the patient until she was finally able to reason with and convince her that her conditions were such that she really needed to go to the Emergency Department. A couple of days later, the patient came to the clinic and expressed her heartfelt thanks for Brittney and Sally.
