Charles Gerardo and ED team: Thanks for outstanding care

Gerardo, as the attending in charge of the team, did an awesome job marshaling his resources to get me top notch care quickly.
Charles Gerardo, M.D. and the Emergency Department team, received a compliment from patient Margaret Groves.
"I would like to send a high five to Dr. Charles Gerardo and the rest of the team that cared for me when I came to the Duke Emergency Department on Super Bowl Sunday with a broken ankle. I believe the orthopedic trauma resident that took care of me was Braden Mayer and my nurse's name I believe was Carole Shumoski. The whole team was wonderful down to the radiology guys that got to see me three different times. Each individual was gentle as well as very professional and caring. Carole was AWESOME and really looked out for my well being. Brendan obviously cared very deeply about doing the best job possible and was extremely thorough and professional. Gererdo, as the attending in charge of the team, did an awesome job marshaling his resources to get me top notch care quickly. He was obviously concerned about the lack of blood flow to the skin around my ankle so the dislocation was corrected within about an hour of my arrival in the ER. Not bad for a Sunday!"
