Imelda Ramos-Garcia, Duke Raleigh Surgical Services, received a Champions of Excellence award:
“There are many ways to look at safety besides the obvious things. This person addresses safety by working tirelessly on doctors’ preference cards to ensure that the physicians and staff have what they need for the surgical procedures. She goes to the extent of taking the cards home to complete them. Though this is not her primary job, she has devoted extra time to assist the preference card team on this monumental task.”
