Joanne Nelson: An advocate for handwashing
posted August 9th, 2010
Joanne really makes a difference in our hand hygiene compliance, and the safety of our patients.
Joanne Nelson, a health unit coordinator in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) at DRH, is recognized by the DRH Infection Prevention & Control Team.
"She has been a handwashing advocate for a long time. She asks everyone who comes through the CCU doors to 'wash your hands, in and out.' It doesn't matter if it is a nurse, doctor, family member, or anyone else. It is timely to recognize her while we are promoting our new campaign, SOS-Soap or Sanitize."
