Lalit Verma: Cares about patients and their families

A patient’s child praised Durham Regional Hospital’s Lalit Verma:
“I would like to recognize Dr. Lalit Verma. My mother was admitted to Durham Regional Hospital in May of this year. During her stay, we received the worst news possible. We found out she had lung cancer that had already spread to two brain tumors. Needless to say, it was a very sad and trying time for my family.
Dr. Verma was very compassionate and very detailed in his diagnosis. His communication to each of us was very thorough, and he used language we could all understand.
I work at Durham Regional Hospital in the Information Systems department, and once she went home, every time I saw him in the hallways at the hospital, he always asked how she was doing. He did not have to do that, but he did. It showed he truly cared about her condition and that this is more than just a job to him.
He has excellent bedside manners with the patients as well as their family members. I cannot say enough about him.”
