Larisa King: A wonderful nurse

Giselle Boward said the following about Larisa King:
“We have a wonderful nurse who came to our unit via a traveling nursing assignment. Larisa is not only a wonderful nurse, but when she sees something that needs to be done she takes action. She noticed that we as a unit needed to bond a little more. She decided to use one of her natural talents. She started organizing bake sales and a 9300 unit T-shirt. The staff all got to submit different suggestions for the shirt then we voted and the winning T-shirt design became the 9300 unit T-shirt. She continued with the bake sales and then came across the idea of a 9300 unit cookbook. She found the publisher. She invited all the employees to submit recipes and organized them into an approximately 200 recipe cookbook. We then sold the cookbook and were able to donate a cookbook to every patient who was on 9300 on Christmas Day as well as 14 more that were admitted over the next few days. We are using the rest of the proceeds to decorate our unit throughout the year. Larisa did all this while she was still a travel nurse. She just signed on to a permanent position on our unit and we are all so glad.”
