Mary McCray: Her quick actions saved a patient

Thanks to her quick thinking, the patient did not suffer any harm from the event.
Mary McCray, with Food & Nutrition at Durham Regional Hospital, is recognized by a colleague for helping to save a patient's life.
"She was making her rounds and walked into the room to find the patient choking. Mary quickly alerted the care nurse and respiratory therapist who were able to dislodge the food that had gotten stuck in the patient’s throat. Thanks to her quick thinking, the patient did not suffer any harm from the event."
