Priscilla Carrington: She puts patients at ease

I do not like having my blood drawn but you made it fun.

Priscilla Carrington, clinical technician III in Pediatric Central Collections at DUH, received a Quarterly Strength, Hope and Caring Award for showing compassion to her pediatric patients and families.

Priscilla previously received a High Five for her courteous and professional demeanor with her patients. Priscilla made a lasting impression on a patient’s mother: “Priscilla drew my daughter’s blood, and she is the best! She took her time and talked to us throughout the procedure. She was very courteous and professional.”

She also recently received this letter from one of her Children’s Health Center outpatients.

"Dear Mrs. Carrington, We are on the way home and I would like to thank you for helping me today. I do not like having my blood drawn but you made it fun. Thanks for the doll. My room looks cleaner already and I'm not even home yet. I hope you have a good Christmas. I know I will!”

The patient's mom also included a note.

"Dear Mrs. Carrington, Apologies for not mailing this sooner. You really brightened my daughter's day. Thank you for the care which you gave her. Love & best wishes.”
