Sharon Grooms: Helps patients feel at ease

Sharon Grooms, ambulatory care nurse I at Pickens, DUH, received the following praise from a patient:

“Sharon is very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. She exhibited great care and gentleness while giving me a shot, instructing me to breathe deeply and exhale slowly. Because she put me at ease, I did not feel the needle as it pricked my arm. I don’t know if I have ever had this experience when receiving a shot. Certainly this made my visit to the clinic pleasurable. She is a Service Champion in the immunization department at Pickens!”
