Anne Cockerham, Emily Carter, RN, and Patrick Hranitzky, M.D., (all of the Southpoint Clinic) received a Team Recipient Strength, Hope & Caring Award.

We received a letter from the husband of a patient who stated that they were “seeking to renew [their] hope for a relationship with medical care which would put her on track for quality health care and quality of life.” He stated, “In our dreams, we could not have expected to have such a positive experience as we had. From check in to check out, the environment and experience was positive. EVERYONE we encountered had a pleasant, helpful disposition and a smile on their face. Kudos to all, I didn’t get the name of the person who checked us in . . .After that we saw Anne Cockerham, then came an angel in the form of Emily Carter, RN, BSN . . . and after that was Dr. Patrick Hranitzky.

The undivided attention and communication, coupled with the professional yet compassionate interaction was such a blessing. This was in sharp contrast to the experience we have had for the last 9 years with other medical centers as my wife has sought treatment for cardiac difficulties.
We left Duke with a renewed sense of hope . . . we were amazed at the kindness and clarity of the information which we received. In short, simple steps, the nurse and doctor sorted out the years of frustration (and often contradictory) medical helotry and developed and presented a plan to treat my wife. This alone improved my wife and my emotional and mental states, which also translates into an immediate improvement of patient health.

In summary, thank you for achieving such a high level of success in the operation of your facilities. You have set the bar at the TOP . . . and you operate at that level.”
