posted May 4th, 2009

This year’s Angels Among Us 5K, held April 25, raised more than $1.41 million to support the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke.

The sum is an all-time high and tops last year’s total by $250,000, according to Ellen Stainback, director of external relations.

Angels Among Us is a celebration of life, strength, courage and commitment involving families and friends whose lives have been touched by a brain tumor. It  has become a national event, with thousands coming from across the country to volunteer, participate and make a difference.
