Blood drive: Give red to honor Duke’s royal blue

posted November 10th, 2008

One school bleeds royal blue. Its rival bleeds light blue. There’s only one way to determine who reigns supreme (and the answer isn’t a toga party).

It’s a blood drive challenge, organized by men in nursing students at Duke against men in nursing students at UNC, as the big, season-ending gridiron clash looms between the Duke Blue Devils and the UNC Tar Heels.

To sign up to donate,  go to www.duke.givesblood.org.

Drives at Duke will be held on the following days at the locations noted:

- Friday, Nov. 14, 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m., School of Nursing.
- Monday, Nov. 17, 11:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., School of Nursing.
- Tuesday, Nov. 18, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., School of Nursing.
- Wednesday, Nov. 19, 11:30 A.M.-4:30 p.m., Bryan Center.

Donations from the Duke campus will be compared with donations at UNC during the month of November. The winner of the competition will be announced during halftime of the UNC-Duke football game on Nov. 29.
