Candlelight vigil honors MLK
posted January 21st, 2010Durham Regional Hospital held its annual candlelight prayer vigil to honor the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. on January 19, 2010.
Standing in a circle in the hospital's main lobby, hospital chaplains and staff recited a litany of celebration of Dr. King's life and spirit, sang a verse of the hymn We Shall Overcome, and lit handheld candles to signify King's message. Joanne Kersey, patient service associate for Radiology, sang a verse of Amazing Grace.
