DRH: Best holiday decorations revealed
posted December 15th, 2009
DRH's OR holiday decorations feature the languages spoken by OR staff (across the bottom of the display.) "Merry Christmas" is spelled in Italian, Hindu, Filipino, Spanish, Arabic and Irish Gaelic. Cher Rhonda Caldwell is pictured. She and co-worker Deborah Page coordinated the display.
Durham Regional Hospital's Holiday Theme this year was "Peace on Earth."
This year's winners, judged based on how well they displayed the theme in their decorations, are:
1st place: Durham Rehabilitation Institute (DRI) -- winners of a pizza party
2nd place: Human Resources -- winners of a sub party
3rd place: Surgical Services -- winners of an ice cream party
Honorable mention: Health Information Management -- winners of candy
Durham Rehabilitation Institute was also the winner of the Diversity Award, and will receive a plaque. DRI's decorations were a partnership between staff, patients and their families. Staff worked with each patient to decorate their door about what Peace on Earth looks like to them.
