DUH employee gives his mom a kidney

posted October 7th, 2008

Maurice Channer, DUH employee, donated one of his kidneys to his mother.

“It was just something I felt like I had to do,” Channer said in an interview with ABC 11 Eyewitness News Aug. 20.

“I knew that it was a major undertaking, you know, on his part,” Patricia Edwards, Channer’s mother, said in the interview. “And I was just as a mother, concerned about him, but I do recognize that people can live with one kidney.”
