DUH held Pediatric Day of Remembrance

Light poured in through the windows of the Goodson Chapel in the Duke Divinity School illuminating the faces of the more than 150 families and staff gathered to celebrate the lives of children whose lives had ended all too soon.
Duke University Hospital’s Pediatric Day of Remembrance, held on Saturday, June 26, 2010, gave parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, aunts and uncles and friends opportunities to reflect and share heart-felt stories and memories of their cherished children.
Some travelled from as far away as Florida and Connecticut to join with Duke pediatric nurses, doctors, social workers, child life specialists, chaplains and others who continue caring for their loved ones even through the end of life.
