Being selected as a recipient of the “North Carolina Great 100” is one of the greatest honors a nurse can receive.  Each spring, the Great 100 accepts nominations and then a rigorous screening process occurs.

This year, the statewide nonprofit group selected seven DUHS nurses for the prestigious award.  The Duke Medicine nurses joined other winners from across the state for a celebration gala on Sept. 27 in Greensboro.

This year’s DUHS winners include:
Myrtle Mayfield, M. Ed., BSN, RN, Watts School of Nursing/DRH
Yvette Meggs, RN, CNIV, Ambulatory Surgery, DRaH
Sherry Nelles, BSN, RN, CNIV, Medical Intensive Care Unit. DUH
