DUH wins state honor
posted September 16th, 2008Duke University Hospital has won a state award for its organizational quality, receiving Advancement (Level 3) recognition in the North Carolina Awards for Excellence (NCAfE) program.
Based on criteria for the Baldrige Award—a national quality award given by the federal government—NCAfE also provides opportunities for organizations to systematically assess and benchmark their institutional performance.
Advancement (Level 3) recognition signifies that “an organization that has demonstrated, through their commitment and practice of performance management principles, significant progress in building sound and notable processes. The organization clearly demonstrates results directly attributable to a systematic, well-deployed approach and has many practices from which other organizations can learn.”
