Duke-UNC blood drive collects 690 pints
posted December 4th, 2008Who wins when two bitter rivals throw down in a battle of the blood drives?
The community, that’s who.
Thanks to the men in nursing students at Duke— who came up with the idea of challenging the men in nursing students at UNC— the Red Cross got 690 pints of blood that otherwise might not have been collected.
When all was said and done, the Duke contingent had collected 240 pints and UNC 450 pints.
Hats off to the organizers and blood donors—whatever their favorite shade of blue.
