posted January 30th, 2009

Peak flu season extends through March, so it’s not too late to protect yourself.

Starting with a flu vaccination blitz Monday, Feb. 2, Duke will continue to offer free flu shots to employees through the end of February. Below is information about where and when you can take advantage of this important benefit.

Please remember that the flu vaccine itself cannot cause flu disease.

Flu Vaccination Blitz: Monday, Feb. 2, 7:30 a.m.-11 a.m., staff from Employee Occupational Health and Wellness will be outside the 2000 Duke North Lecture Halls at Duke University Hospital. Please remember to bring your valid Duke ID.

The first 100 Duke Hospital employees to get their flu shots during the blitz will receive complimentary badge holders that proclaim “I Got My Flu Shot.” In addition, employees will be selected at random to receive other free gifts.

Meanwhile, walk-Ins welcome at Employee Health. If you are unable to attend the blitz, you still can get your free flu shot. Just visit the EOHW clinic, which is located in the Red Zone, basement level of the Duke Clinic Building. The vaccine is given Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. (except for Wednesdays from noon to 2:00 p.m.). Please remember to bring your valid Duke ID.
