Reminders from the Office for Institutional Equity:

Did you know Duke Medicine has policies prohibiting harassment and discrimination? Duke’s Harassment Policy prohibits harassment of any kind. Discrimination based upon race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex, or age is also prohibited.

Harassment occurs when behavior, that is severe or persistent, significantly interferes with an individual’s work or education, or adversely affects an individual’s living conditions. The conduct alleged to constitute harassment is evaluated from the perspective of a reasonable person. Duke’s policies also prohibit retaliation because an individual comes forward with a concern or complaint of harassment or discrimination.
