Glenn Newman, M.D.
posted July 28th, 2008Glenn E. Newman, M.D., associate professor in the Department of Radiology, died Thursday, July 24. A respected and skillful physician, he will be greatly missed.
Newman came to Duke University in 1965 on a football scholarship. He completed medical school at Duke, followed by a surgical residency at Duke and the National Institutes of Health. He then focused on the rapidly developing field of diagnostic radiology, completing his radiology residency and fellowships in nuclear medicine and vascular/interventional radiology at Duke. He stayed on with the Department of Radiology until his untimely death.
Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29 at Hall Wynne Funeral Home, 1113 W. Main Street in Durham. A reception will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30 (please call the Dept of Radiology, 684-7226 for location). The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Duke Chapel.
