Jirtle named to National Academies committee

RandyJirtleRandy Jirtle, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology and associate professor in the Department of Pathology, has been appointed to the National Academies Standing Committee on Use of Emerging Science for Environmental Health Decisions.

The National Academies, based in Washington, D.C., advises the nation on science, engineering and medicine.

The committee facilitates communication among government, industry, environmental groups, and the academic community about scientific advances that may be used in the identification, quantification, and control of environmental impacts on human health.
