Maestro Care Now Extracts Patient Records from Non-Duke Providers

Care Everywhere enables the extraction of patient data from the records of non-Duke providers who practice at other Epic sites.

October 10 was an exciting day for all clinics live in the Maestro Care system, as a new feature, Care Everywhere, was turned on for users in all Wave 1 and 2 clinics, enabling Duke clinicians to have the information necessary to provide the most appropriate care for patients.

Care Everywhere enables the extraction of patient data from the records of non-Duke providers who practice at other Epic sites, even if the patient's previous provider is located in another town or state.

When the Care Everywhere feature is utilized, providers are able to extract clinical information, including allergies, medications and problem list items, directly into the patient’s Maestro Care chart.

All outside medical record information that is brought into Maestro Care is stored in the “Outside Records” area. Certain health information, including results and clinic notes will only be viewable in this area, and will not be incorporated into the patient’s Maestro Care record.

This new feature is only available to certain clinical users: physicians, advanced practice providers, dentists, nurses, HCAs, CMAs and pharmacists.
