posted June 10th, 2010Jill Bryant, an optometrist at Duke Eye Center, talks about a special kind of contact lens that can help those who suffer from chronic eye disease.
"Scleral lenses are large-diameter, gas-permeable lenses," she said. Scleral lenses can help patients who can't correct their vision with standard glasses or contacts. “The hardest part is for patients to learn how to insert and remove it,” Bryant added.
