Getting Mentored at Duke

- Getting Mentored at Duke is an interactive seminar that will explore the role of mentoring in career development, and provide a practical guide to establishing successful mentoring relationships. The discussion will include information on the following: a) identifying your professional goals as a first step in establishing mentorship, b) ways of identifying potential mentors (using Duke’s Faculty Research Database (FReD), networking at national meetings, etc) c) approaching potential mentors, d) managing relationships with your mentors. e) recognizing potential effects of generational differences, gender differences, and cultural differences on the mentoring relationship.
