Saturday hours extended as early voting surges

electionballotboxDurham County elections officials— expecting large turnouts— extended Saturday’s early voting by four hours until until 5 p.m.

Saturday was the final day to vote early ahead of Tuesday’s election.

Thursday was the busiest day yet for early voting at Duke, when 924 people cast ballots in West Union Building.

Across Durham on Thursday, 8,300 people voted early at the county’s seven sites. In all, nearly 80,000 people have voted early in Durham.
