Take the challenge by submitting teddy bears

posted October 27th, 2008

teddybearOnly three days are left to submit bears for Dr. Bill Fulkerson’s 7th-annual Teddy Bear Challenge.

Last year’s challenge was a huge success, with more than 300 bears donated to help raise money for the Children’s Health Center.

Individuals and departments can submit bears they have decorated.  Prizes are awarded in various categories, and you will have the chance to win two tickets to the Teddy Bear Ball, dinner for two, and other prizes.

Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center’s 19th-annual Teddy Bear Ball will be held Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at the Durham Marriott and Civic Center downtown.  The evening begins with cocktails, food and a silent auction.  Guests will have the chance to walk among 300 silent auction items—and, of course, the teddy bears—while waiting for the exciting moment of making a final bid.

The bears are due by Wednesday, Oct. 29, and can be dropped off in the Hospital Administration Suite, Room 14209 Red Zone, Duke South. Judging will take place on Friday, Oct. 31. Winners will be announced by the end of the day.
